Manhattan Diagnostic Radiology’s New Dedicated PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine Division

In January of 2007, Manhattan Diagnostic Radiology opened its new PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine Division, located at 340 East 64th Street. Our patients will experience not only an unparalleled level of comfort, but will also receive the best in quality imaging from our highly trained staff and through the use of leading edge technology. MDR is among the first in New York City to utilize the GE Discovery ST, which is the most advanced PET/CT system available in modern radiology. When combining these necessary factors with the outstanding clinical expertise that doctors have come to expect from the physicians of MDR, our new location will undoubtedly set the new standard for outpatient PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine imaging.

GE Discovery STThe most technologically advanced PET/CT scanner in radiology today, the GE Discovery ST combines PET and CT into one inherently registered image. These fused images capture essential information from each imaging technology to shed new light in oncology, cardiology and neurology. System-wide, Discovery ST’s PET contains the ideal blending of technological components down the line that add up to optimized PET performance. It is the only detector for both 3D and 2D imaging with full septa for optimal imaging of patients of all sizes. The Discovery ST system also includes a powerful full-featured GE LightSpeed 16 slice CT with attenuation correction, the best in the field for oncology and cardiovascular applications.

GE Millennium MGThe Milennium MG Nuclear Imaging System from GE, complementing our dedicated PET/CT Scanner, allows MDR to complete its offering of nuclear medicine studies. Equipped for both planar and SPECT imaging, the Millenium MG provides enhanced capabilitites including cardiac imaging, sestamibi parathyroid localization, and cutting edge tumor imaging studies.
