Your Visit

Q: Why do I need to be at the practice 15 minutes prior to my study?
A: It is necessary for you to arrive early in order to complete registration paperwork and prepare for your study.

Q: What type of clothing should I wear for my exam?
A: Wear comfortable, metal-free clothing. It may be necessary to change into a patient gown for your study. Keyed lockers are provided for your clothing and valuables.

Q: May I get a copy of my films and records?
A: MDR sends your films and records to your physician who can provide them to you upon request. We can also make a copy available to you (film or CD-ROM format) with physician approval. Please tell the technologist what you need at the time of your study.

Q: How long does MDR keep my records on file?
A: MDR maintains the records from your study(ies) in accordance with state laws (in most cases, for a minimum of five to seven years).

Billing

Q: What do I need to bring with me to facilitate the payment process?
A: Bring your complete insurance information, including your insurance card, ID number, and group number. In addition, for workers’ compensations claims and automobile injuries, bring your claim number, the date of injury and the name and address of your attorney.

Q: Do I need pre-certification from my health care policy or plan?
A: Some plans do require pre-certification. Check with your plan to see if this is necessary, or ask a representative of MDR when scheduling your appointment. Your insurance company can also answer any questions you may have about what is covered and what is not.

Q: Does MDR file secondary claims as well as primary ones?
A: Yes.

Q: I do not have medical insurance. Can I get a price quotation on my procedure?
A: If you do not have medical insurance and/or you are concerned about paying for your procedure, call the MDR billing office and we will give you an estimate on your procedure costs. Payment for services is due at the time of your appointment.
