Ilona Hertz, M.D.

Picture of Dr. Hertz Dr. Hertz is a 1973 cum laude graduate of SUNY Downstate Medical School. After completing a radiology residency at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York City, she remained at Mt. Sinai as an Attending Radiologist. She joined the practice in 1984, specializing in both GI Radiology and Mammography. In 1995, she founded the New York Partnership for Women’s Health, focusing on breast imaging.

Dr. Hertz was one of the first radiologists in private practice in New York City to perform both stereotactic and mammotome breast biopsy, and one of the first to achieve accreditation in both procedures from the American College of Radiology. She is also one of the few radiologists with expertise in Breast MRI and MR guided breast biopsy. Dr. Hertz is also an expert in performing conventional Hysterosalpingography and Saline Infusion Sonohysterography. A member of the American College of Radiology, a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology, and a Fellow of the Society of Breast Imaging, Dr. Hertz is a frequent lecturer for the American Cancer Society and actively involved in many women’s health initiatives.
